Artist statement
My creative work focuses mainly on video art, textile art, installations and performances. My constant theme is self-discovery, our struggles with ourselves and our society. In natural and artificial spaces, through the representation of the human body, I try to depict the inner tensions of our society, I am preoccupied with transformation as an experiment in materiality and illusion. Transformation, experiencing the familiar from a different perspective. I like to draw on classical and modern art historical antecedents, the theme of the works is transformation or even disguise. I express relationships with art as a whole, in a way that as moving paintings, another medium is detached from the plane one is endowed with visual space. My figures reflect on social and individual situations, rush and the struggle with time, where anxiety and the desire to conform prevail. An attempt to escape from the "routine", to modify "public" moods by transforming them. Visuality is meant to represent rigidity, the physical appearance of the person, the soul hidden behind physicality. For me, the sense of confinement is the -sculpture entity that feels separate from its wearer, and the panic when it experiences repeated confinement. The embodiment is the real issue, when the experience becomes an irreversible certainty, that is the really interesting thing, and that is where perhaps the true individual, is transformed. I aim to create and digest unusual situations.
